Baytech Client, Poggled.com, Raises $5.6M of Series B Funding

Filed under: Baytech Success Stories — Baytech Web Design @ 10:17 am

Entrepreneur and recent MBA graduate, Joe Matthews contacted Baytech in March of 2009 with the goal of creating a social networking nightlife website which provides customers with easy access to connect with clubs, bars, and other venues for event information and specials. Baytech translated this exciting idea into a technical game plan, working with Joe over four months to release the alpha site: Poggled.com.

Baytech developed this website from scratch; including developing and testing the sophisticated application. A quiz module was created that would determine what drink the quiz taker is (wine, margarita, beer, etc.) and the user would then be directed to Poggleds list of bars that specialize in the winning quiz drink. Baytech successfully integrated the site with Facebooks news feed update feature to display the drink quiz results and notify friends about the bar they were are attending that night, creating a valuable network aspect for Poggled users. Soon after the alpha site release, Joe received his series A funding.

We were in weekly and sometimes daily communication with Joe, says Baytech’s Regional Sales Manager, Sara Mahmoodi. We specialize in translating conceptual ideas into a technical specification that will be profitable for our clients. Its such an exciting process to bring those ideas to life.

In June of 2010, Poggled released their beta site. The Chicago startup has since continued to grow, recently securing $5.6M of Series B funding from New Enterprise Associates, the same venture capitalist firm that invested in Groupon.

The Poggled site is now Chicagos largest nightlife website, offering exclusive discounted drink deals and party packages to users. The Series B funding will support the companys continued growth and market-by-market rollout in the coming weeks and months.

We are constantly working with entrepreneurs to develop innovative sophisticated web applications, says Baytech’s Lead Project Manager, Claire Lin. With the Poggled project, we overcame several technical challenges to refine the idea; and the site was completed with exceptional results. Were very pleased about Joes success.

Baytech Web Design was a pleasure to work with

Filed under: Baytech Success Stories — Baytech Web Design @ 11:08 am

Baytech Web Design was professional, courteous, and quite competent to work with. Amanda responded to my emails literally within minutes of my asking a question. No question or request I asked was met with a poor attitude — and I had a lot of questions! In my opinion, she is an asset to your team.

Baytech Web Design offers reasonable rates, excellent results.

Baytech Web Design is very timely and professional

Filed under: Baytech Success Stories — Baytech Web Design @ 10:11 am

The site went through several revisions and Amanda was helpful and cooperative throughout the changes. She was a superstar! The design experience was very positive. I conveyed the changes to Amanda and they were handled in a timely and professional manner.

If I were to retain our services again for my web solution, I would want to be helped by the same project manager. I think continuity is important because the PM understands how you think and work and there is a rapport that has developed. Thanks Amanda. Thanks Baytech Web Design.

Baytech Web Design already has a good reputation in their field

Filed under: Baytech Success Stories — Baytech Web Design @ 5:30 am

Baytech Web Design already has a good reputation in their field, so my expectations were that things would go smoothly. The process was definitely seamless and the team answered all of my questions and issues quickly and accurately.

The design team was very easy to work with, and results/changes were very quick.

The QA service was excellent. We had an ongoing problem with the way product images from the database were being displayed, but they kept on it and fixed the problem.

Claire was always very responsive and communicative during this project. If she didn\’t know the answer to a question, she got an answer very quickly.

All of the project’s main goals were achieved with the aid of the consultants. It was easy to communicate with them and they laid-out the project in a clear and concise manner.

Baytech Web Design made it very easy to make requests and see results. It was just up to me to check to see if issued had been fixed. And they always ended up being fixed.

Baytech Web Design was fantastic in the implementation of our new Web site. It was not a small task, by any means, but the whole team was quick to implement and quick to fix issues that arose. Even when we added extra work during the implementation, it was done efficiently and seamlessly. I never once felt like we were waiting on them for anything.

Baytech was very responsive and executed in a timely fashion

Filed under: Baytech Success Stories — Baytech Web Design @ 9:32 am

Baytech was very responsive and executed in a timely fashion. Wireframe and design were very good. The creative side  works perfect. The original concepts were very main stream. As I was looking for something that everyone else wasn’t doing, I cam up with the overall theme of the banners and flash. I was hoping to get some more creative input from you team that was different than my competitors. Baytech Web Design execution was very good.

The creative design of my website beyond met my expectations

Filed under: Baytech Success Stories — Baytech Web Design @ 9:05 am

Baytech’s creative design of my website beyond met my expectations. It is user friendly and very appealing to look at and completely matches the theme and market I am aiming for. I really liked how the design team copied my original logo and made a whole site based on the appearance of the logo. It looks amazing. I liked how they came up with a clean easy to navigate and attractive looking site. The design of the site completely matches the idea and feeling I have for my computer business. I didn’t expect my site to look so amazing.

We were fortunate to work with Baytech Web Design

Filed under: Baytech Success Stories — Baytech Web Design @ 9:47 am

We were fortunate to work with Amanda, who is wonderfully talended and most of all, patient with me as we reviwed countless banner images, grades of color and fonts.

Things always happen when building a new site but what matters is how the vendor handles issues as they arise. I was impressed with the sense of urgency and the professionalism that was displayed towards SolarTech during my work Baytech.

Claire was especially skilled in responding to my needs and while she was firm to keep us on track, she was always forward thinking in managing any slips in the project.

A reasonable amount of effort given that I authored the content. However, i thoroughly enjoyed the entire ideation and design of the site, working with Claire to create the wireframes and with Amanda on the design.

I am completley satisfied with the development of our site. I view Baytech Web Design as a world class provider of cost-effective solutions with both the technical creativity to meet our needs within a joomla-based environment delivered with a high degree of customer care.
